Description
The Chinese Economic Association UK/Europe (CEA), one of the most influential academic organisations in Europe dedicated to research on the Chinese economy, has been committed since its founding in 1988 to bringing together scholars, experts, and practitioners worldwide who share an interest in China’s economic development. Through sustained academic research and exchange, the CEA seeks to deepen the international community’s understanding of China’s economic performance and institutional transformation. The CEA 2026 China Annual Conference will be held in Beijing from 12 to 14 June 2026. The Conference aims to convene outstanding scholars and experts from around the world to explore frontier issues and industrial practices in economics in the context of intelligence, green development, and interdisciplinary integration, and to promote high-quality advancements in cross-disciplinary innovation and talent development. The Conference is co-organised by the Centre for Forecasting Science, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); the School of Economics and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS); the Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics, the School of Economics, and the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), Xiamen University; and the Academy of Innovation and Development, Central University of Finance and Economics.

Under the overarching theme “Towards Intelligent, Green, and Convergent Economics,” the Conference seeks to examine frontier questions, theoretical innovations, and policy practices in economics against the backdrop of a new round of technological revolution, green transition, and disciplinary convergence.
